Google has designed web crawler software to search the web for useful content and information. The program, Googlebot, will go from page to page following all the links that are associated from one page to the next. But what happens if you have a new page that has no links to it? If the Googlebot software is not able to locate your website easily it will take longer for the information you are trying to provide is easily accessible to others on the internet. When you create an article you want your information to be at the top of every list for people to find and be able to use. The fastest and easiest way to get your articles out is to submit articles to Google.com. There is an easy to follow search engine submission page that will put your website on a list of URL's to search for valid content. Keep in mind not all pages will be accepted to Google.com for ranking, but if you submit a website or article that has valid content and is useful to others on the web you should be good to go.
Below are the instructions to submit your web site address or article web page address to Google.com. Submitting will help new articles enter the search engine results faster.
1. The first thing you will need to do is access the Google.com search engine submission page. The link is located at the bottom of the page.
2. There are three boxes you will need to fill in on this page.
URL: this is the web address to the page you would like Google.com to "crawl" and rate for the search engine ranking
Comments: This can be key words or any other comments you would like to share about the web page.
Next is the Verification box. It is labeled optional however it is good to enter this information. It lets Googlebot know you are an actual person and not software.
3. Now hit the Add URL button at the bottom of the page.
4. You will be forwarded to the confirmation page when it is submitted properly. This will add the submission to the list of sites for the web crawler, Googlebot, to search through. There are also other tools you may be able to use to help increase your website traffic listed on this page.
5. If you would like to submit another website or article to Google.com you can press Submit Your Site on the bottom of the site index list on the left side of the page.
